Krunoslav Simon helped Anadolu Efes overcome feisty Petkim Spor at home with an 87-80 victory for Round 26 of the Turkish BSL.
Simon posted 21 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds to lead all scorers of Ergin Ataman’s squad, while Shane Larkin and Tibor Pleiss had 18 points each.
Petkim took charge in the second quarter after trailing by 12 in the first period (32-20) and put up a challenge for the hosts, though the latter ultimately managed to keep control and got their second victory in a row to improve to a 25-1 record and remain on top of the BSL standings.
Ian Hummer paced the efforts of the visiting team with 15 points, 7 assists and 5 rebounds and Sarunas Vasiliauskas had 14 points.
Meanwhile, Lorenzo Brown with 20 points led Fenerbahce to a 97-87 road win over Afyon Belediye, as they improve to a 20-6 record behind Efes’ 25-1.
Melih Mahmutoglu added 15 and Dyshawn Pierre ten points. On the opposing side, Francisco Cruz banked in 23 and Evaldas Kairys 18 points.
