Fenerbahce Beko was down 13 points early against Gaziantep but dominated the rest of the way securing the win, 102-80, on Sunday.
Melih Mahmutoglu put up 27 points behind 8/12 field goals in the BSL Regular Season Round 6 fixture. Pierria Henry followed with 15 points, while Jan Vesely and Marial Shayok added 11 points apiece. Siting our were Dyshawn Pierre, Nando de Colo, Danilo Barthel, and Devin Booker.
On the losing side, QJ Peterson and Alpha Kaba combined for 43 points, 22 and 21, respectively. Jarmar Gulley finished with 18 points.
The team led by Sasha Djordjevic was coming off four losses in a row in the last ten days, three in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and one more in Turkey’s BSL. This win upped the domestic W-L record to 4-1. Another tough game coming right up with a visit to CSKA Moscow, in a EuroLeague Regular Season Round 8 fixture scheduled for Thursday.
Vasilije Micic poured 31 points, dished out ten assists, and grabbed five rebounds in the Anadolu Efes successful Sunday. His side outscored Tofas Bursa, 29-15, in the fourth quarter to claim the away win, 107-94, and get to 4-2 after two losses in a row at the domestic level. The hosts are also 4-2 as fellow Basketball Champions League outlet Galatasaray Nef.
Micic, 27, connected 4/8 three-pointers. Rodrigue Beaubois went for 21 points, Elijah Bryant contributed 19 points and Filip Petrusev added 17 points. Tomislav Zubcic led Tofas was 21 points.
Moving back to the 2021-22 EuroLeague campaign, the defending champions will take on Zenit Saint Petersburg in Istanbul on Friday.
Elsewhere, Michael Roll paired 18 points with five assists sending Pinar Karsiyaka past Semt77 Yalovaspor, 79-73, and to the shared lead in the Super Ligi standings with Fener at 5-1. A minor injury prevented Akil Mitchell from helping the BCL side.
