Seven Fenerbahce Beko players scored in double figures in the 100 – 51 Turkish League win of their team over Afyon Belediye. This result improves Fener to 10-1 and keeps them at the top of the BSL standings.
Ahmet Duverioglu led the way for Fener with 21 points plus 11 rebounds. Nando De Colo produced 13 points plus eight assists while Jan Vesely had 12 points and five rebounds for the winning squad that dominated from start to finish and never let the foot off the gas.
Afyon trailed 29 – 11 at the end of the first quarter and never managed to even be competitive against a very determined Fener squad. Shannon Shorter had 13 points plus five rebounds and Ayberk Olmaz finished with 11 points and five boards as well for the visiting side that is now 3-7.
Fener will be looking to keep that rhythm and intensity in EuroLeague as well. After snapping a four-game skid with a win vs. Monaco last week, Sasha Djordjevic’s team is facing Zenit St. Petersburg on the road in search of its first back-to-back victory this season.
