Fenerbahce put an end to its two-game skid in the Turkish League with a 90-65 blowout win against Buyukcekmece at home, in their rescheduled meeting for Round 15, despite missing head coach Sasha Djordjevic who tested positive for COVID-19.
Captain Melih Mahmutoglu dropped 17 points to lead the way for Fener, Sehmus Hazer tapped 15 points and 7 assists, Metecan Birsen followed with 12 points and Ahmet Duverioglu had 11 points and 9 boards. The hosts remain on top of the BSL standings with a 14-3 record.
Youngster Mustafa Kurtuldum posted 13 points to pace Buyukcekmece, while Evan Bruinsma and Deniz Kilicli added 12 points apiece. The visitors suffered their 11th consecutive defeat to fall to a 3-14 record in the standings.
Earlier on Tuesday, Anadolu Efes also enjoyed a comfortable 88-69 victory over Yalovaspor on the road.
Tibor Pleiss dropped a double-double with 23 points and 10 rebounds for Ergin Ataman’s squad, while Adrien Moerman also picked up a double-double with 12 points and 14 rebounds. Vasilije Micic, Krunoslav Simon and Bugrahan Tuncer all had 12 points for Efes, which improved to a 13-3 record.
Marcus Lee had 13 points and 7 rebounds for Yalovaspor and Can Altintig added 12.
