Ryan Luther and Alpha Kaba led the way for Gaziantep in the 78-69 over Anadolu Efes in the Turkish league.
Luther scored 19 points while Kaba had 16 points but also grabbed 15 rebounds, including nine on offense, securing a lot of second chances for the hosts. Jarmar Gulley and Quentin Peterson scored 13 each for the victors.
For Efes, Erten Gazi scored 12 in addition to Egemen Guven, Filip Petrusev and Bugrahan Tuncer’s ten points each. It should also be noted that coach Ergin Ataman rested a good part of his roster, considering the squad just recently came out of the exhausting Euroleague series against Olimpia Milano.
This game had a lot of importance when it comes to the final ranking in the Turkish league as there’s only one game day left before the playoffs. This loss kept Efes at 22-7 and the team is now trailing behind the top-seeded Fenerbahce (23-6).
Meanwhile, Gaziantep holds the fourth spot with 19-10, the same record as the third-placed Darussafaka and the fifth-placed Galatasaray.
