Destined to finish second in the BSL Regular Season, Anadolu Efes scored a 23-7 finished record after logging the win, 93-87, against Semt77 Yalovaspor Friday.
Preparing to compete in the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Four, Ergin Ataman’s side closing out the regular-season schedule featured BYU product Elijah Bryant putting up a game-high 18 points. Turkish center Egemen Guven added 14 points and 13 rebounds.
In a couple of weeks, the team based in Istanbul will face Olympiacos in Belgrade’s Stark Arena for a spot in the championship game and a chance for a back-to-back title in Europe’s premier club competition. Archrivals Real Madrid and FC Barcelona shape the other semifinal matchup.
Elsewhere in Round 30 action, Tofas missing the cut for the Playoffs wrapped up its 2021-22 campaign rocking HDI Sigorta Afyon Belediyesi, 115-57. Aliaga Petkim Spor beat Besiktas Icrypex, 87-80, and FIBA Europe Cup champion Bahcesehir Koleji outlasted Yukatel Merkezefendi, 101-95 in overtime.
Fenerbahce Beko, locked in the top seed of the Turkish league’s Playoffs, is set to visit Buyukcekmece tomorrow, Saturday. Battling for the best-possible seeding, Darussafaka, Gaziantep, Galatasaray Nef, Frutti Extra Bursaspor, and Pinar Karsiyaka are all also part of the tomorrow’s schedule. Bahcesehir has clinched a playoff berth as well.
