Fenerbahce Beko Istanbul ended its regular-season duties with a 96-88 win over Buyukcekmece on the road, to clinch the top spot in the Turkish BSL standings.
Fener started the game with a 29-20 lead in the first half and never trailed, despite the hosts’ efforts to fight back. An 11-6 run in the opening minutes of the fourth quarter was enough to provide a safe lead for Fener that ended the regular season victoriously.
Ahmet Duverioglu led the winners with 15 points and 11 rebounds, while Markel Starks and Jehyve Floyd each scored 11 points.
Jordon Crawford posted a game-high with 17 points and 11 assists for the home team, Evan Bruinsma added 17 points and 10 rebounds and Ian Miller followed with 15 points.
Fenerbahce is set to face either Bursaspor or Pinar Karsiyaka in the upcoming playoffs — the final standings will be completed Saturday night.
Earlier this week, Anadolu Efes put up a scoring feast against Yalovaspor to retain second place ahead of the playoffs and also awaits the winner of Bursaspor-Karsiyaka to determine their playoffs pair.
With all 30 games played in the lower seeds of the BSL standings, Yalovaspor (7-23) and Afyon Belediye (4-26) had the worst placement (15th and 16th respectively), resulting in their relegation to the second division next season.
