Anadolu Efes put up a scoring feast against Pinar Karsiyaka and got a 90-66 victory in the Turkish BSL Quarterfinals opener Wednesday.
James Anderson led three more scorers in double figures with 16 points and 7 rebounds for Ergin Ataman’s squad. Shane Larkin, Erten Gazi and Bugrahan Tuncer all posted 13 points apiece, in the wake of Vasilije Micic’s absence.
Efes gained the upper hand early in the game with a hot run from the three-point line and kept building up its lead, not allowing their visitors to recover. The hosts extended their advantage to 22 points by the end of the third quarter (65-43) to seal an easy victory.
On the opposing end, Amath M’Baye paced Karsiyaka with a 23-point performance and Can Korkmaz added 10 points and four assists.
Game 2 of the series is underway Friday, May 13 (19:30 local time) in Karsiyaka, Izmir.
