Fenerbahce Beko played a pretty offensive game to defeat Darussafaka Istanbul 94 – 69 and take a 1-0 lead in the best-of-five semifinal series of the Turkish BSL League.
Melih Mahmutoglu led a very balanced Fener team performance with 14 points in 15:26 minutes. Pierria Henry (10 points, eight assists), Jan Vesely (10 points, six rebounds) and Ahmet Duverioglu (10 points, six assists) also scored in double figures for Sasha Djordjevic’s team that was vastly superior after halftime (47 – 40).
Fener made a 14 – 2 run in the third period to go up 66 – 52 and increased that margin to beyond 20 points in the fourth quarter. Dacka was close for 26 minutes but didn’t manage to keep up with the hosts in the second half.
Nathan Boothe scored 19 and Troy Caupain had 15 points, five rebounds, five assists but also eight turnovers for Dacka.
