After coming back from a deficit of eight points, Fenerbahce Beko separated itself from Galatasaray Nef in the fourth quarter and eventually settled for the 97-91 victory Sunday evening.
Despite prevailing in the Istanbul derby, Scottie Wilbekin picking up a knee injury late in the BSL Regular Season Round 8 left a sour taste on the team coached by Dimitris Itoudis. Nemanja Bjelica (calf), Dyshawn Pierre, Tonye Jekiri, and Marko Guduric were all unavailable.
Wilbekin, 29, lasted as the leading scorer with 22 points to go along with five assists and four rebounds up to the early exit. Nigel Hayes followed with 19 points and Metecan Birsen added 15 points. Dylan Ennis and Dee Bost ended up with 27 and 25 points, respectively, for the team coached by Andreas Pistiolis.
Comfortably to 6-1, Anadolu Efes blew out Manisa, 95-74. Bugrahan Tuncer registered a season-high 23 points and Ante Zizic posted a 19-point, 12-rebound double-double for the team coached by Ergin Ataman. Shane Larkin (finger), Rodrigue Beaubois, Dogus Balbay, Isaiah Taylor, Tibor Pleiss, Amath M’Baye, and Achille Polonara all sat out.
