Turk Telekom delivered the upset of the season so far in the Turkish BSL League. Jerian Grant (20 points, six assists) and Tony Taylor (20 points) scored almost half their team’s points as Turk Telekom beat Fenerbahce Beko 82 – 75 on the road to hand the reigning champs their first loss after nine straight wins.
“Winning away against Fenerbahce feels a bit strange, I’ve spent years here,” said Turk Telecom coach Erdem Can after his first game against his former club. He was an assistant at Fenerbahce from 2012 to 2021 when he left Fener to join the Utah Jazz coaching staff.
Turk Telekom led for the entire game after the mid of the second period, closing halftime with a 35 – 44 advantage and going up 53 – 66 at the end of the third quarter. Fener never managed to become threatening down the stretch.
Johnathan Motley had 16 points plus six rebounds while Marko Guduric and Nigel Hayes-Davis dropped 12 points each for the hosts.
Axel Bouteille contributed 12 points to Turk Telekom’s win while Erkan Yilmaz finished with 11 points, 11 rebounds plus six assists.
