Fenerbahce blows out Gaziantep, Efes falls against Karsiyaka

By Eurohoops Team/ info@eurohoops.net

Fenerbahce players have not yet secured a place in the Euroleague playoffs, and in the last round, with the imperative to win, they are visiting Crvena Zvezda in Belgrade. Before the key match in the league part of the season, they hosted Gaziantep in the domestic championship and made an ideal prelude with a convincing 100-50 victory.

Coach Dimitris Itoudis used the opportunity to rest several starters before the match in Belgrade, so Marko Guduric, Nigel Hayes-Davis, and Nick Calathes were not on the active roster.

Sehmus Hazer finished the game with 21 points, while Carsen Edwards shot 4/7 from a distance and scored 18 points.

John Egbunu was the only one in double figures in the Gaziantep team with 13 points.

Meanwhile, after losing their chance to make the EuroLeague playoffs, Efes continues to struggle. With only eight players on the active roster, Efes lost against Pinar Karsiyaka 98-93. Vasilje Micic was missing as was injured Erick McCollum for the home side.

Elijah Bryant scored 19 points and Rodrigue Beaubois added 18 points for Efes, while Jaylon Brown had 23 points for Karsiyaka.

To make things worst, it’s reported by Sports Digitale that Efes lost their flight to Istanbul because they spend too much time after the game in the locker rooms and had to get a ride by bus back to Istanbul. Per the same report, Shane Larkin and Will Clyburn refused to enter the bus.
