Despite trailing for most of the 40 minutes, Anadolu Efes dug its way out of an eight-point hole with a strong finish to the third quarter and went on to secure the win, 104-88, against Besiktas Emlakjet Monday.
In a confident display, Vasilije Micic ended up with 22 points and eight assists in Turkey’s BSL Regular Season Round 25. Ante Zizic followed with 18 points to his name. French imports Rodrigue Beaubois and Amath M’Baye threw in 16 and 15 more points, respectively. Allerik Freeman scoring 21 points was the top scorer for Besiktas in Sinan Erdem Dome.
On Sunday, league-leading Turk Telekom distanced itself by two wins from second-placed Fenerbahce Beko. Following up, Efes matched Pinar Karsiyaka at 18-7, two games behind Fener with five Rounds remaining in the double-legged round-robin schedule of the Regular Season.
After going all the way in the last two editions of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague, the team coached by Ergin Ataman was eliminated from the 2023 Playoffs and naturally moves forward with additional focus on the domestic league.
