Dealing with an unusual situation considering recent years and consecutive trips to Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Final Fours, Anadolu Efes focuses on domestic action down the stretch of the 2022-23 campaign.

Adding to a long list of Efes injuries during the season, Vasilije Micic hurt his knee in the penultimate game of Turkey’s BSL Regular Season yesterday, Tuesday. Despite the early exit, his side took down Fenerbahce Beko and is likely heading to the third seed in the Playoffs bracket.

Wrapping up the double-legged round-robin schedule of the Regular Season, Ergin Ataman’s team will visit Yukatel Merkezefendi and Pamukkale University Arena Sunday. Micic will not play, but he is expected to return to action in seven to ten days, as noted by his agent Misko Raznatovic in a post shared on Twitter. Confirming the timetable, the Serbian combo guard would boost Efes in the hunt for a domestic league championship at some point in the Playoffs.

Micic, 29, ended up with 15.4 points, 4.5 assists, and 2.0 rebounds per game in the Regular Season. In EuroLeague, he averaged 16.0 points, 5.4 assists, 3.2 rebounds, and 0.9 steals per contest.

Fenerbahce rules out Birsen for about one month

On the opposite end of the collision resulting in the injury of Micic was Metecan Birsen, a former player of Efes. Doubtful to return to action this season, the 28-year-old forward was ruled out for about one month due to a right knee injury, Fener announced Wednesday.
