Bryant Dunston playing for the first time after the recent car accident accompanied Anadolu Efes to a comfortable win and clinching the third spot in the final standings of Turkey’s Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi.
Ergin Ataman’s side blew out Yukatel Merkezefendi, 94-71, in Pamukkale University Arena Sunday.
Dunston, 36, chipped in seven points for the Regular Season Round 30 win. Sidelined for most of the 2022-23 season and undergoing surgery on his left hip in December, team captain Dogus Balbay also returned to action but did not score over four minutes. Chris Singleton recovering from pericarditis sat out alongside Erten Gazi, Tibor Pleiss, Vasilije Micic, and Amath M’Baye.
Experienced guard Bugrahan Tuncer registered 21 points. French import Rodrigue Beaubois added 13 points. For the hosts, Manny Harris earned a share of the game-high 21 points.
The Istanbul outfit would have landed in the fourth seed with a loss, but instead ended up with a 22-8 record at the conclusion of the Regular Season and locked up the third seed. Consequently, coming up next is a best-of-three series against Darussafaka Lassa in the Playoffs.
