Fenerbahce Beko board member Sertac Komsuoglu issued a statement regarding Anadolu Efes coach Ergin Ataman after the end of Game 4 of the Turkish BSL semifinals between the two sides.
Komsuoglu’s statement is as follows:
“The opposing team’s coach [Ergin Ataman] can’t make gestures to any Fenerbahce manager. The opposing team’s coach is not our interlocutor. He’s the paid employee of the opposing team. Everyone knows his place. He shouldn’t make such actions in Greece, there are firecrackers and torches thrown on the court, so he wouldn’t understand what can suddenly happen. He’ll be surprised that he’s there. And the cursing of his dear friends who were here swearing at us won’t be enough to save him.”
After Efes won the game to advance to the Finals, Ataman was shown exchanging words with some Fenerbahce representatives who were sitting in the VIP section of the arena. These people, apparently being angered by something, moved aggressively toward Ataman but were stopped by security.
