Fenerbahce Beko defeated Besiktas 87 – 66 in a postponed game for Round 26 of the Turkish BSL League regular season. The second-seeded Fener moved to 22 – 5 while Besiktas dropped to 19 – 8 for a third-place tie with Pinar Karsiyaka at 19 – 8.
In its last game before traveling to Monaco for Game 1 (24/4) and 2 (26/4) of the EuroLeague playoffs, Fener was superior for the larger part of the game, closing halftime up 48 – 30. Sarunas Jasikevicius’ players didn’t have a problem retaining a commanding advantage for the remainder of the game.
Scottie Wilbekin scored 18 pointsto lead Fener. George Papagiannis had 12 points plus six rebounds , Melih Mahmutoglu added 12 points and Tarik Biberovic dropped 11 points.
Jonah Matthews (17 points) and Matt Mitchell (15 points) were Besiktas’ top contributors.
