Fenerbahce Beko outscored Besiktas Emlakjet by a margin of 16 points in the third quarter on the way to a 98-72 victory in Ulker Sports Arena on Saturday evening. One win from the Finals of the Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi Playoffs, the ING Turkiye Kupasi winners in February went up 2-0 in a best-of-five series of the Semifinals.
Tucking in all seven attempts from the field and five free throws, Nigel Hayes-Davis ended up with 20 points, including ten in the third period of Game 2. Scottie Wilbekin logged 19 points and Tarik Biberovic chipped in 15 points for the team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius. On the losing end, Marko Simonovic recorded a team-high 16 points.
On the injury list of Fener, Yigit Hamza Mestoglu (right knee surgery), Marko Guduric (groin), and Raul Neto (right knee surgery) were sidelined. Due to squad restrictions on available foreign players, Johnathan Motley, Amine Noua, Tyler Dorsey, Nick Calathes, and Nate Sestina were also out. For the team coached by Dusan Alimpijevic, Angel Delgado and injured Berk Ugurlu were inactive.
Switching to BJK Akatlar Arena, Game 3 follows on Monday.
