Fenerbahce survives Yalovaspor on the road

Fenerbahce Beko got a 97 – 90 overtime away win over Yalovaspor in a game for Round 2 of the Turkish BSL regular season.

Yalovaspor came seconds away from a big victory. With 5.0 to play and the hosts up 83 – 80, Nicolo Melli intentionally missed a free throw and then Arturs Zagars stole the ball and immediatelly passed it to the Italian forward who hit the triple that forced the overtime.

In the extra period, Fener was the superior side to escape with the win.

Nigel Hayes-Davis scoed 22 points and grabbed six rebounds for Fener. Tarik Biberovic dropped 16 points while Bonzie Colson had 14 points and nine rebounds.

Wes Clark led Yalovaspor with 23 points and six assists.

Meanwhile, Anadolu Efes grabbed its second win this season in the Turkish League by defeating Bursaspor 99 – 78 on the road behind 21 points by Doguş Ozdemiroglu.
