Fenerbahce dominates in Mersin, Efes edges out Turk Telekom

Fenerbahce Beko controlled Mersin Spor in Servet Tazegul Arena en route to a win, 98-69, in Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi action on Sunday.

Nigel Hayes-Davis ended up with 20 points in Mersin. Setting the pace with ten points in the first quarter, Bonzie Colson followed with 14 points. Tarik Biberovic added 12 points. With ten points in the fourth quarter, Boban Marjanovic posted a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double.

Khem Birch, Metecan Birsen, Devon Hall, Dyshawn Pierre, Scottie Wilbekin, and Arturs Zagars were out for Round 8 of the BSL Regular Season.

The team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius went up to 7-1, one game behind undefeated Tofas.

Also improving to 7-1, Anadolu Efes took down Turk Telekom, 86-81, in Istanbul’s Basketball Development Center. Fueling a close win, Daniel Oturu went for a team-high 21 points behind 9/11 three-pointers. Justus Hollatz, Stanley Johnson, and Rolands Smits joined injured Shane Larkin and Dogus Ozdemiroglu on the sidelines.

For the visitors, Anthony Brown put up a game-high 22 points to go with four rebounds and four assists. However, the 32-year-old winger missed a shot to tie the game in crunch time.
