Fenerbahce Beko crushed Bahcesehir 87 – 56 in the Turkish Cup quarterfinals to advance to the next stage. They will face archrival Galatasaray for a spot in the title game.
The game was played behind closed doors due to a sanction that Fener had received for incidents that took place in the 2022 Cup semifinal game vs. Galatasaray. Last season’s tournament was canceled due to the Turkey–Syria earthquakes.
Nigel Hayes-Davis had 14 points, Nicolo Melli posted 12 points plus five rebounds and Errick McCollum scored 10 for Fener. Their team outplayed Bahcesehir 22 – 7 in the first quarter and closed halftime up 49 -25, never to look back.
Tai Odiase (15 points) and Marko Simonovic (10 points, seven rebounds) scored in double figures for Bahcesehir.
Earlier, Galatasaray beat Pinar Karsiyaka 97 – 88 behind 25 points by Otis Livingston along with 22 points, five rebounds and four assists courtesy of James Palmer.
