A putback by Sertac Sanli combined with effective defense in the final seconds lifted Fenerbahce Beko over Anadolu Efes, 82-81, on Sunday.

Against his former team, the 33-year-old Turkish center grabbed an offensive rebound and gave Fener the lead with 22.1 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter of the domestic clash of the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague participants in Istanbul’s Basketball Development Center. Preventing a response on the opposite end, the visitors improved to 21-1 in the 2024-25 Turkiye Sigorta Basketbol Super Ligi Regular Season.

Behind the go-ahead effort, Sanli ended up with three points over 20 minutes. Bonzie Colson recorded a team-high 15 points. A game-high 20 points went on the wrong end of a back-and-forth battle and Elijah Bryant.

Efes ruled out Rodrigue Beaubois (knee) and Vincent Poirier (ankle) for the Round 22 fixture. Both players are at least questionable for the following two-game week of the EuroLeague Regular Season, namely home fixtures opposite Baskonia and Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv on Wednesday and Friday. Salih Altuntas (left ankle surgery) and P.J. Dozier were also left out of the lineup.

Due to injuries, Nigel Hayes-Davis and Khem Birch joined Scottie Wilbekin (right knee surgery) on the sidelines for the team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius. Devon Hall sat out due to illness. Jilson Bango and Dyshawn Pierre did not suit up due to league restrictions on foreign players.
