The first scorer of the Turkish Basketball Super League, Clay Tucker is no longer a player of Konyaspor. The team decided to break the contract with the American guard/forward for “indiscipline behavior” after a specific incident that took place in the team’s locker rooms.
As Anadolu’da Bogun exclusively reported, Tucker’s behavior towards the club was disrespectful in more ways than one. Vice president of Konyaspor, Kerem Oten specifically mentioned that “There was no way that Tucker would stay in the team after what happened to the locker rooms after the match with Ted Ankara. The president went to talk to the players and Tucker just stood up and walked by him, saying something really bad in the process”.
But that was not the only misconduct by Tucker according to vice president Oten. “He also criticized coach Aziz Bekir in front of his teammates and the president of the club”.
He continued, saying “Tucker hadn’t received his salary 11 days after the deadline. And he was bringing up this subject constantly. He was disrespectful towards the club president so we let him go”.
Clay Tucker averaged 18.7 points per game so far in the Turkish Championship, while Konyaspor fights to avoid relegation, having a negative record of 6 wins and 14 defeats. The game against Ted Ankara was the last one he played for the team from Konya which is now searching for his replacement.
