With the 35 points he scored against Gaziantep, Thomas Heurtel of Anadolu Efes made a new record in his professional career so far. Alas, this remarkable performance by the French point guard was fruitless since his team was defeated 96 – 99 in overtime.
In order to reach this impressive output, Heurtel made 7/9 two-point shots, 6/9 three-pointers and 3/4 free throws. What makes it more impressive, is the fact that he didn’t abandon his play-making duties, finishing the match with 6 assists.
His previous record was the 31 points he had scored for Laboral Kutxa, during a Euroelague game against Neptunas Klaipeda, in 2014. When it comes to the Turkish Basketball Super League, Thomas Heurtel current record is the 25 points he had scored in the first match of the 2015 Finals series versus Pinar Karsiyaka.
