Galatasaray beat Trabzonspor on the road 73-80 and improved to a 12-8 record in the Turkish league standings.
Vladimir Micov was the leading scorer for Ergin Ataman’s team with 16 points, Tibor Pleiss reached a double-double of 14 points and 11 rebounds, Jon Diebler added 13 more points, Sinan Guler finished with 12, while Goksenin Koksal and Alex Tyus scored 10 points each.
Caleb Green led the hosts with 24 points and 6 rebounds.
Galatasaray had a short lead early on, then the hosts surpassed by one after 10 minutes, 22-21. The hosts found a 4-point lead (33-29) at 16′, then the visitors stayed up 36-40 at halftime.
Diebler expanded his team’s lead to 43-50 in the third period, while it became a 10-point game with just a minute to go until the final one. The visitors entered the forth quarter with a 51-63 lead.
Despite Trabzonspor’s attempts, Galatasaray was able to keep even a short head until the end and seal the victory.
