Anadolu Efes (21-3) fell to Gaziantep (12-12), one of the ambitious teams for the playoff race, with 84-96 in the 24th week the Turkish league.
The winners were led by Marcus Denmon’s double double of 26 points and 10 rebounds and Davon Jefferson’s 25 points. For Efes, Thomas Heurtel scored 26 points.
Stefanos Dedas’ team stepped into the game with lots of energy and managed to lead midway through the first quarter with 18-11. Still the hosts were able to cover the gap and surpass 25-24 by the end of the period.
Denmon paced Gaziantep before halftime and the visiting team kept a brief 44-42 head after the first 20 minutes.
The visitors didn’t slow down in the second half. At 28′, they had the upper hand of the game with 66-75.
