Game 1 of the Turkish League semifinals between Fenerbahce and Darussafaka Dogus resulted to a monologue for the newly crowned EuroLeague champions.
On the backs of a particularly dominant second half, Fenerbahce defeated its opponents 94 – 72 and took the advantage in the series rather easily.
The victory and the final score become even more impressive considering Bogdan Bogdanovic’s absence and Kostas Sloukas’ injury that got him sidelined early.
Melih Mahmutoglu stole the show for the winning squad with a game-high 18 points, a performance that prompted the crowd to “MVP chants”. Ekpe Udoh, James Nunnally and Nikola Kalinic dropped 12 points apiece while Bobby Dixon scored 10.
Save for Scottie Wilbekin (16 points) and Will Clyburn (16 points) no other from David Blatt’s players rose to the occasion of such a league semifinal.
