Jure Zdovc emerges as an alternative choice for Galatasaray if the club doesn’t manage to acquire Saso Filipovski from Banvit, according to Eurohoops sources.
Filipovski is positive on joining Galatasaray but still has one year remaining in his contract with Banvit. Since there are no exit clauses, he’s currently in negotiations with his current team in order to find a solution that will break his contract, thus making him eligible to join the “Cimbom” which, after all, is what he wishes.
The management of Galatasaray have explained to Filipovski how much they want him at the helm, but they don’t intent to pay Banvit a buyout. Hence their back-up plan which has another Slovenian, Jure Zdovc, at the front.
Zdovc is currently a free agent after he parted ways with AEK during the season. He has previously coached in Turkey from 2013 to 2015 with Gaziantep.
