DJ Kennedy and Jarrod Jones scored more than half of Pinar Karsiyaka’s points as the team from Izmir beat Anadolu Efes 92 – 85, in a manner perhaps easier than what the final score says.
Karsiyaka was in control for the vast majority of the game, always being one step ahead of its opponents that performed poorly defensively and didn’t manage to keep up with their hosts once they fell behind.
Kennedy finished with 26 points, 5 assists, and 4 rebounds while Jones posted 22 points and 9 rebounds.
An impressive Errick McCollum (28 points) and Vladimir Stimac (24 points, 11 rebounds) weren’t enough for Efes that did its job only on one end of the floor.
Reigning champion Fenerbahce faced no problem against Banvit, while Galatasaray crushed Gaziantep. David Blatt’s Darussafaka was stunned by Tofas Bursa on the road.
