Fenerbahce got the easy 96-71 win at home against Gaziantep even though the visitors were really impressive in the first half, and especially the second quarter. Gaziantep falls to a 1-2 record, while Fenerbahce improves to 2-1.
The game tipped-off with Fener showcasing their offensive game, and scoring 28 points in the first quarter. They built an early double-digit lead (28-17) (10:00), but in the second quarter, Sean Armand (16 points at the half) led the visitors to a great 16-30 run to top the defending champions by half-time (44-47) (20:00).
The second half was a different story, as Fenerbahce showed up offensively but also played tough defense down the stretch. With Jan Vesely being a force in the paint on both ends of the court, Fener controlled the tempo of the game and had the upper hand throughout the second half. The home team went on a 9-0 run in the third quarter, increasing their lead to nine-points (61-52) (27:00) which was the turning point of the game.
James Nunnally led the way for coach Obradovic with his 19 points, 6 rebounds, and 6 assists while Jan Vesely was a force down low scoring 20 points.
