Besiktas grabbed its third consecutive win in the Turkish Basketball Super League after beating Sakarya Buyuksehir 75 – 69 on the road thanks to an excellent defensive effort in the fourth quarter and a fiery Jon Diebler.
The American sharpshooter gunned down his opponents with 6/9 from beyond the arc and 23 points in total. He scored six in the final period where his team allowed only three (!) points in the last nine minutes to come back from a 66 – 59 deficit and ultimately win the match.
Ryan Boatright contributed 16 points, six rebounds and five assists for the winning squad while Lazeric Jones scored 21 for Sakarya.
In the rest of today’s Turkish league games, Tofas Bursa remained the only perfect team in the league thanks to a road win over Banvit and Galatasaray overpowered Buyukcekmece shortly before waiving Rakeem Christmas.
