There will be a new Turkish Cup champion this season since 2017 title holders Banvit are out of contention by the hands of Besiktas.
With four players scoring in double figures, Besiktas beat Banvit 80 – 63 to become the fourth team that advances to the semifinal stage. They will face Tofas Bursa for a spot in the title game.
DJ Strawberry and Earl Clark dropped 14 points apiece, Cody Lalanne 13 and Kenan Sipahi 11 for the winning squad. From Banvit’s side, Adonis Thomas and Damian Kulig finished with 16 points each.
After a balanced first quarter (15-15), Besiktas fired up its engines and took a 41 – 32 lead at halftime. They extended their advantage to 23 by the end of the third quarter to cruise towards victory.
Banvit struggled to connect to the basket, finishing with 39% from the field, thus failing to be competitive.
