18 years after winning the 2000 Turkish Cup title, Tofas Bursa will once again compete in the competition’s title game.
Coach Orhun Ene’s players beat Besiktas 86 – 79 and advanced to the Final for the fourth time in the history of the franchise.
Tony Crocker scored a game-high 20 points for Tofas including a key basket that made it 81 – 75 with one minute remaining plus the free throws that sealed the result in favor of his team with 19 seconds remaining.
Sammy Mejia also put a key touch with a downtown bucket for the 84 – 77. He finished with 14 points, 6 assists, and 5 rebounds.
Besiktas needed a lot more than the efforts of a “hot” DJ Strawberry (25 points, 6/8 3-pointers) and Cody Lalanne’s 14 points.
Tofas will face Anadolu Efes in Sunday’s (18/2) Final.
