Ergin Ataman’s team got a critical 82 – 90 victory on the road against Banvit and improved its record to 20-7.
Since the first half, the visitors managed to go up by double-figures (34-49), as they were scoring efficiently from the field (66.6% FG). Motum and Simon were leading the way in the offense while Brian Dunston played a vital role defensively.
This double-digit deficit would not go away for Banvit for 39 minutes, even if Gasper Vidmar was trying to lead the hosts to a comeback. In the final minute, the hosts cut the deficit to eight points, but the game was already over.
Errick McCollum scored 25 points for the winners (9/14 FG), while Brock Motum added 21. Krunoslav Simon flirted with a double-double as he put up 14 points, five rebounds, and nine assists.
For the hosts, captain Vidmar (16 pts) and Angelo Caloiaro (16p. 10r.) led the way, but it was too late for a comeback.
