Bahcesehir will be the team that will replace Eskisehir in the Turkish First Division League (BSL) following the sudden decision of the latter to withdraw from the 2018-2019 top-tier domestic championship (and also the Basketball Champions League).
This will be the first venture for Bahcesehir in the First Division in the history of the club.
“We are where we deserve. Thanks to those who contributed. I firmly believe that we will bring a new breath to the basketball family,” Bahcesehir president Huseyin Yucel wrote on his Twitter account.
Bahcasehir finished third in the 2017-2018 Turkish TBL, the Second Division basketball championship.
As of now, it remains unknown which club will replace Eskisehir in the Basketball Champions League.
