After lifting the Supercup trophy, Anadolu Efes continues to ‘ride the momentum’ with a 73-70 road win against Galatasaray in their first Turkish League game.
After a few ups and downs for both teams, it became a one-possession game when Nigel Hayes scored a triple for Galatasaray with 30 seconds remaining and decreased Efes’ lead to just two points (68-66). The game was then decided from the free throw line as Efes kept calm keeping the distance and securing the game.
Efes won the first quarter 24-13 but couldn’t shake off Galatasaray’s mini-comeback and went on the halftime rest with a four-point lead (32-28). The match continued with Efes having an upper hand most of the time but the hosts always seemed to find a way to stay close eventually bringing the game to an exciting finish.
Brock Motum led the charge for the victors with 20 points while Shane Larkin added 16. On the other side, Aaron Harrison scored 16 in addition to Tai Webster’s 13 points.
