After the two-victory EuroLeague week, Anadolu Efes continued its winning ways by beating Gaziantep Basketbol today. Following the BSL Regular Season Round 8 game, Ergin Ataman noted: “We are used into playing in this tempo (two EuroLeague games and one in domestic league)”.
He then admitted that he isn’t happy on his Turkish players’ contribution to the team: “Today, we got great contributions from our foreign players. Unfortunately, we could not get any contribution from our Turkish players. Turkish players also do the same training with foreign players. Foreign players come out and play both in EuroLeague and here very well. Unfortunately, Turkish players get chances, but don’t take advantage of them”.
The 52-year-old coach added: “I mentioned the above ahead of the the National Team’s games in the qualifying windows. May God give the national team staff ease. Because we are constantly warning our Turkish players to take the initiative, but when they are playing against foreign players, they take a step back. I hope it will be different in the National Team, I wish success to the National Team”.
