Despite a slow start, Besiktas managed to bounce back and win 81-72 against Darussafaka on Day 10 of Turkish League.
Iva Buva led the charge by dropping a double-double with 19 points and 13 rebounds while Kyle Gibson added 17 points in addition to Robin Benzing’s 14.
For Darussafaka, Michael Eric flirted with double-double notching game-high 21 points along with nine rebounds, and Stanton Kidd helped with 14.
The guests had an early 13-3 lead but Besiktas quickly recovered and went on the halftime with a 42-37 advantage. They took over after the break leading by as much as 14 points (61-47) and although Darussafaka got closer (67-64) they couldn’t turn the game around in the end.
Besiktas improved to 6-4 while Darussafaka holds a 3-6 record. This was Darussafaka’s fourth straight loss in all competitions and it arrives during their search for a new head coach.
