Fenerbahce Beko defeated Besiktas 79 – 59 in Round 15 of the Turkish BSL regular season to improve its record to 13 – 2 and remain at the top of the standings.
The two teams were close only for 23 minutes. With the score 38 – 43, Fener had a 0 – 8 run that put them up by double figures. Besiktas was unable keep up while the reigning champions kept increasing their advantage that reached a 21-point margin, 49 – 70, in the mid of the fourth period.
Joffrey Lauvergne scored a team-high 15 points and grabbed five rebounds. Marko Guduric (10 points, six boards0, Gigi Datome (10 points) and Sinan Guler (10 points) had key contributions for Zeljko Obradovic’s squad that was without Jan Vesely and Nikola Kalinic.
Ivan Buva was the only Besiktas player in double figures with 19 points. His team dropped to 8 – 7 with this result.
