Efes let its defense do the trick vs. Gaziantep.

Anadolu Efes beat Gaziantep 73-59 and became the third team to advance in the Turkish Cup semifinals. Coach Ergin Ataman’s squad will face Besiktas – which overcame Tofas Bursa – for a spot in the title game.

Adrien Moerman scored 16 points and grabbed seven rebounds for Efes. Vasilije Micic added ten points and four assists while Shane Larkin had eight points and five assists.

Shaq McKissic dropped a team-high 11 points on Gaziantep’s side. Tonye Jekiri notched a double-double with ten points and 11 rebounds.

Gaziantep was up 19-16 at the end of the first period but their opponents reacted with a 23-14 partial score in the second quarter to assume control. Efes kept Gaziantep to just 26 points in the second half to retain a safe advantage.

The first semifinal pair features Fenerbahce and Turk Telekom which won their respective games against Bahcesehir and Galatasaray.
