Although Turk Telekom had a 20-point lead (39-19), Fenerbahce Beko turned the tables and grabbed an 82-72 home win in Game 1 of the Turkish League playoffs.
Kostas Sloukas led the victors with 18 points followed by Marko Guduric‘s 17 and Nikola Kalinic‘s 15 points. Melih Mahmutoglu helped with 14 points.
For Turk Telekom, Vladimir Stimac scored 14 points while adding 12 rebounds and Sylven Landesberg scored 12 points.
Earlier, Tofas and Besiktas played their first game as well as the hosts won convincingly 102-76. Samuel Mejia nailed 28 points for the victors followed by Travis Trice’s 17. For Besiktas, Joseph Alexander scored 20 while Kyle Gibson helped with 18 points.
Both quarterfinal matchups will play their Game 2 of the best-of-three series on May 26 as the home-court advantage switches sides.
