Nikola Kalinic was on fire as Fenerbahce Beko dominated Turk Telekom 92-59 winning the series 2-1 and advancing to the Turkish League semifinals where they will clash against Tofas. The other semifinal matchup features Anadolu Efes and Galatasaray Doga Sigorta.
Kalinic shot 3-4 for two and 5-6 for three on his way to game-high 22 points while Marko Guduric added 16 points in addition to Sinan Guler’s 15 and Kostas Sloukas‘ 13 points.
For Turk Telekom, Vladimir Stimac notched a double-double with 14 points and ten rebounds followed by Terrance Campbell who added 12.
Fenerbahce went ahead 46-31 by halftime and they kept increasing the lead to as much as 38 points (84-46). The winner was beyond doubt but some tension lingered near the end of the match.
With 4:49 left to play, Kalinic was subbed and he celebrated with a specific gesture while going to the bench which didn’t ‘sit well’ with Turk Telekom who took offense on that. There was a bit of commotion but nothing big happened. However, the game was stopped and Kalinic, Reggie Redding and Turk Telekom bench got technical fouls.
