Turkish Cup holder Fenerbahce Beko is set to collide with BSL champion Anadolu Efes for the Turkish Presidential Cup. The season-opening contest for both sides will take place at Gaziantep on Thursday and Melih Mahmutoglu previewed the game via Fener’s official site.
“We had a difficult training camp. Many players participated in the World Cup, so we had limited time to prepare as a full team. Other players faced injuries,” pointed out the Fenerbahce captain, “But we know our strength. We have trust in what we can accomplish as a team.”
“This is the first official game of a long and challenging season. We want to get off to a nice start with the trophy and achieve the best possible in the rest of the season” he added and furthered, “I wish both my team and all our opponents a season without injuries.”
