The 35th annual Presidential Cup game between the BSL champions and the Turkish Cup winners will take place on Thursday at Gaziantep with Anadolu Efes facing Fenerbahce Beko. Head coach Ergin Ataman and captain Dogus Balbay presented Efes’ view on the season-opening affair.
“Our first official match of the season is for the Presidential Cup,” said the 53-year-old head coach, “We will provide the fans with nice basketball and fight for the trophy.”
“We want to retain the cup we won last year” noted Balbay, “Neither team is fully ready in the beginning of the season. Fenerbahce Beko is a very experienced side, has competed in plenty of finals and captured titles. We have to be very careful.”
