FC Barcelona and CSKA Moscow notched their ninth win of the 2020-21 Turkish Airlines EuroLeague Regular Season. One game less hits up the Spanish powerhouse with the top spot after the conclusion of Round 12. However, our MVP of the week comes out of Barca’s arch-rival, Real Madrid.
MVP
Sergio Llull
Challenging circumstances following the departure of Facu Campazzo don’t budge the long-time Madrid star. Even LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne hitting on all cylinders did not take down Llull Friday. After quickfire threes got him nine points in 48 seconds, he went on logging in 19 points behind 5/6 threes, including a clutch shot changing momentum down the stretch. A true MVP performance.

1. Wade Baldwin IV: He tied his EuroLeague career-high putting up 19 points in a tough battle handing FC Bayern Munich third place in the standings.
2. Sergio Llull: Our MVP looking rejuvenated aims for more success with the Whites.
3. Alec Peters: A team-high 18 points versus his previous side powered TD Systems Baskonia in Istanbul.
4. Danilo Barthel: The German forward helped Fenerbahce Beko snap an alarming losing streak with 15 points, five rebounds, and four assists.
5. Othello Hunter: Rounding up our list on a 13-point, 10-rebound double-double in a narrow home “W” for Maccabi Playtika Tel Aviv.
Coach of the week: Sarunas Jasikevicius
Back in Lithuania to face Zalgiris Kaunas surely had the capacity to stir powerful emotions for Jasikevicius. A solid win for the 44-year-old head coach in a peculiar situation forcing his previous team to its sixth loss in a row. Barcelona coming off an ACB home loss to Valencia needed to take full advantage of the opponents struggling and his players delivered.

Lacking consistency
LDLC ASVEL Lyon-Villeurbanne and AX Armani Exchange Olimpia Milan both scored a victory Tuesday but failed to double-up. The losing sides of the postponed matches, Panathinaikos OPAP and ALBA Berlin bounced back. Taking into consideration similar outcomes for other teams in a quick turnaround after a domestic tilt, it looks like the unusual schedules add to the overall unpredictability.
