After last season, when the playoffs did not take place due to the coronavirus and the action was stopped, the always promising phase of the Euroleague in terms of spectacle returns with four series that seem to bring just that.

The 19 editors from all editions of Eurohoops made their predictions for the teams that will advance to the Final Four in Cologne and you are also given the opportunity to share your predictions through the poll.

Detailed predictions of our authors for the four series and the poll are down below.

Anadolu Efes – Real Madrid

The Turks are the absolute favorites

The first pair to enter the “battle” of the playoffs is that of Anadolu Efes with Real Madrid. Ergin Ataman’s unit has the home advantage and despite the long tradition of their opponents, they are considered the heavy favorites.

And practically nobody argues with that, giving a huge advantage to the Turkish side.

Olimpia Milano – Bayern Munich

Milano is the favorite with Bayern having a shot at an upset

The second pair which will start its series tomorrow (20/4) is that of Armani Milano and the big surprise of this year, Bayern Munich of Andrea Trinkieri and Wade Baldwin.

The Italians, due to the quality and experience of their roster, have the “upper hand” on paper and the editorial team of Eurohoops seems to agree on that as the majority believes that the team of Ettore Messina after many years will return to Final Four.

CSKA MoscowFenerbahce BEKO

A duel that can go either way

This is a very peculiar case since COVID changed all that was considered a given. That’s why some votes in favor of Fenerbahce should be taken into account having in mind an ideal situation in which the Turkish side would be healthy.

That’s why the predictions are so divided, even if CSKA seems to have the upper hand, simply by being more healthy.
