Despite winning two games in a row, ALBA Berlin continues at the bottom of the standings. This week they have a good chance to continue adding victories when facing Panathinaikos… but the truth is that the goals of the team coached by Israel Gonzalez go beyond results.
The German champion stands out for developing great talents and this year wasn’t going to be an exception. After surprising all of Europe by taking immediate revenue from Oscar da Silva -who has been a practically fixed player in our team-, the time has come for Christ Koumadje (223cm / 7 feet 3 inches). He had a superb performance in Kazan and since then his weight in ALBA rotation has grown.
He doesn’t spend a lot of time on the court but when he does he takes shots, scores with high percentages, and gets rebounds easily. For just 16 million in Biwenger, he becomes our recommendation of the week.
“EL CLÁSICO” WEEK
This week, we have made three changes in our team. We brought in Guerschon Yabusele (35M), Will Clyburn (62M), and Augustine Rubit (30 million) for Shavon Shields, Shane Larkin, and Oscar da Silva… but we have reasons for that.
Yabusele will face Barcelona for the first time in the EuroLeague with the white jersey and his clash with Nikola Mirotic can be epic. With the return of Anthony Randolph and Trey Thompkins, the French player needs to give reasons to remain the first choice as power-forward.
In the other great European “Clasico” of the round, Clyburn -who will be our captain- will have to take a step forward in Kaunas with all CSKA absences. The injuries are also the reason why we chose Rubit for the game against Efes.
