Readers’ votes combined with Eurohoops Team picks labeled Giannis Antetokounmpo as the 2021 European Player of the Year.
The voting process extending through five Eurohoops editions (Global, Greek, Spanish, Russian, and Turkish) welcomed fans from all around Europe to choose among five selected players.
Giannis Antetokounmpo got the nod after a historic year with the Milwaukee Bucks. He powered his team to the NBA championship as the Finals MVP, earned the All-Star Game MVP award, claimed spots in both the All-NBA First Team and NBA All-Defensive First Team, and more.
The readers vote accounted for 50% of the total vote, while the remaining 50% was determined by Eurohoops Team.
The Greek Freak accumulating 64.2% dominated the total votes to become the 2021 European of the Year.
