The devastating earthquakes in Turkey are a thing of the past, but unfortunately, the signs of the disaster are becoming more and more intense.
Hundreds of thousands of injured and homeless, orphaned children and cities remain lost in the rubble. The EUROhope | Assist for Turkey initiative continues the largest basketball auction ever held in Europe to ease the pain of those in need. The idea of the Turkish edition of Eurohoops.net has already been met with a great emotional and also tangible response.
The second series of auctions included, among others, a Milwaukee Bucks jersey with a special message and the autograph of Giannis Antetokounmpo, this season’s jerseys of Real Madrid‘s Sergio Llull and Gabriel Deck, Olympiakos captain Kostas Papanikolaou’s autographed jersey, an autographed ball from this year’s Panathinaikos roster, and also ALBA’s Maodo Lo and Maccabi‘s Wade Baldwin’s autographed jerseys.
After the completion of the first two auctions, the sum collected for the support of the Turkish people amounts to €9,127. The amount of money will be allocated to the affected people through Ahbap NGO and Darüşşafaka Cemiyeti social institution.
In the third week of EUROhope | Assist for Turkey ten new collectibles are up for auction for the next seven days. Kostas Sloukas, Nick Calathes, Kyle Hines, Mario Hezonja, Edy Tavares, Will Clyburn, Mike James, and Luke Sikma are some of Euroleague’s top athletes who have signed and are donating their jerseys from the current season.
The EUROhope initiative is created through the Charity Idols platform.
