A few days after joining Fenerbahce Beko on a short-term contract, Amine Noua returned to the Turkish Airlines EuroLeague and helped his side defeat Virtus Segafredo Bologna in Ulker Sports Arena on Thursday.
“I found rhythm quickly, easy,” he told Eurohoops after tallying nine points behind 4/4 field goals in Round 23 of the Regular Season, “With great players like this, it is easy to play. I really appreciate everything the club did for me.”
Introducing himself to the loyal fanbase of Fener, the native of Lyon shared a special moment during the third quarter. “To play in front of all these fans in a soldout game, energy is coming naturally,” he mentioned, “I tried to get a connection with them. Yeah, I guess it worked.”
“I found my place quickly in practice. It was only two practices, but they made me comfortable. They talked to me a lot. The assistant coach helped me a lot,” he added on adjusting to a new environment, “Everybody can see at the end of the game that my teammates hugged me.”
Noua, 26, started the 2023-24 campaign at Hapoel Holon and moved to Bertram Derthona Tortona in December. Loaned to Fenerbahce for one month, he hopes to extend the stint beyond the initial deadline. “For sure, I want to stay for many years, if I can,” he told Eurohoops.
Back to France next week, the team coached by Sarunas Jasikevicius is set to face off with his former team LDLC ASVEL Villeurbanne on Tuesday and also visit AS Monaco on Thursday.
